Measure the envelope and choose a stable pose
Measure the maximum width, depth and height in the pose you will photograph. Include handles and projections. The planner uses that envelope rather than a guessed object diameter, so the proposed camera positions still allow space when the longest diagonal rotates toward the camera. Set the object on a stable support and identify any surfaces hidden by it.
Pilot the first ring
Lock a usable lens setting and take a short sequence around one side. Inspect focus at full size. Keep the object center in a similar position in the frame and avoid changing the crop between photographs. Run a small alignment test before spending time on all rings; this reveals an untextured or reflective surface early.
Use the schedule as a checklist
- Mark the start angle so every ring returns to the same reference.
- Move in consistent increments while maintaining recognizable common surface.
- Change camera elevation only after completing a ring.
- Add local detail sequences for recesses and handles.
- Keep the original images and record any excluded or blurred shots.
